Place de la Concorde, Paris, France
Today you can find me being lazy in bed next to my sister, listening to 2cello on Spotify while trying to figure what to do with this blog. I wish I could be more persistent with it, but more than ever this year has been so busy. I've been working 3 jobs, going to French classes, and trying to have a social life. I haven't been able to explore Paris like I did last year. I don't take as many pictures anymore, I don't try new things, nor do I go on my daily walks like I did before.
I keep going back and forth like I always do with this blog. Do I keep giving it a shot or do I give up? How much should I tell you? WHAT should I even talk about anymore? I constantly worry about my next move, going to my next job, what time I should go to bed before burning out. My worries and insecurities keep piling up. But enough of me talking about my stresses, let me catch you up on the positive aspects of my second year in Paris.
As of now I can a great group of friends that I see regularly. The best part about my friends is that they all live in this overly expensive city with me and are also trying to find themselves. We drink our stresses away on the quai, breathe a little easier during our weekly yoga class, and eat our feelings over a dinner we prepare together. I am lucky to have found people who are willing to help me improve my French while bonding over our love for cooking, fashion, art, and drinking wine.
From when I prepared a chicken fajita night for my host family
Cooking has become a big part of my life as well. I cook for my host family once a week. I cook big extravagant meals that are new to me and for them as well. The more I discover recipes and prepare them with success, the more my confidence grows in the kitchen and I fall in love even more with it. I am thinking of sharing my recipes with pictures of the dishes I prepare on this blog. We will see; if I can't even commit to writing a post once a week, I don't know how far I can get with this cooking post.
I am two months in my second year here. Things are definitely different this time around. I feel more at home even though I'm grinding my teeth with stress and constantly holding my breath trying to get to the next place without being late. I am currently on my first vacation this year, catching up on sleep. I am giving my visiting sister the grand tour of Paris, showing her everything from my favorite areas to my go-to spots. As of now, I am going to slowly restart blogging. With no promises, I will try to blog at least once a week. So secret keepers, keep your eyes open for more classified information from your lost wannabe Parisian, and keep your pretty little mouths on the hush-hush.
