87 days and counting...

C'est la vie à Paris! It's been 87 days living in Paris as an au pair and I completely love it. I have finally accomplished something that I wanted to do since I was a kid. I am working with a great family and going to French class twice a week, leaving me time to explore the beautiful romantic city.

I have to be confess it is a little hard sometimes being so used to living in a house to moving into a small studio apartment where my neighbors can hear my every breathe and I can hear theirs. Even the fact that I don't have the comfortability of my car and I daily have to walk to a metro stop or a bus stop to get to where I want to go. I'm not saying that I hate it, it's just not something I am used to but it does go with the Parisian Charm.

Nothing compares walking into a boulangerie in the morning and getting a golden flakey Pain Chocolat. The fact you can get a €1.00 espresso at a cafe and sit for hours without ordering anything else and the waiter won't even give you a dirty look or hard long stare pressing you to leave. There is a simplicity of finding what you need within walking distance. Living in Paris is completely different than coming to visit it for vacation.

87 days later I am not homesick. I do miss my family and my friends but I still wouldn't head back to the states. In fact I'm trying to figure out a plan to let me stay in Paris either for a few more years or maybe for the rest of my life. I will keep all of you guys posted about my adventures and my future plans.
